Dermot Francis Shea (born May 24, 1969) is a former American police officer and administrator who was the 44th New York City Police Commissioner. He assumed the position on December 1, 2024, and was sworn in by Mayor Bill de Blasio in a public ceremony on December 2. See more Shea's parents were Irish immigrants.
