WebLate to this party but I'm a huge fan of Adult World (from Brief Interviews). Very classic DFW and plays on the same general themes as many of the Brief Interviews stories (self-hatred/toxic self consciousness/obsessive social anxiety all ultimately as different forms of narcissism) but sort of rises above them, for me. WebHe seems to be more himself in that story, it seems to be the most personal and definitely the most autobiographical in that collection. But from that same story collection, I absolutely can't stand his parody of Bret Easton Ellis, "Girl with Curious Hair". Because Ellis is already hyper-obnoxious, even Wallace couldn't be more obnoxious than that.
