WebMay 25, 2015 · Fixing a kinked axle, without drilling rivets, is easy once you know one of the tricks. I like to use a metal rug hook - it looks like a small shepherd's crook. Turn the axle so that it seems bent up into the wheelwell. Hook the rug hook over the axle and then slowly bend the axle downwards by pulling on the rug hook. Voila! A straightened axle.
